Coherent Tech Dogwood Facility
Louisville, Colorado
Date: 2008
Cost: $13,000,000
Area: 51,706 GSF
This project is a tenant finish for an existing structure, divided
into two phases. Phase I includes the design of 28,000 sq. ft. of office
space, shipping/receiving area, small laboratory, chemical dispensing
room, secured conference room, and a 900 sq. ft. data center with raised
floor. Phase II is the process-oriented section of the facility which
contains two 1,500 sq. ft. Class 10,000 (ISO 7) clean rooms, one Class
100,000 (ISO 8) gowning room, research and development room, and the
housing of all mechanical equipment.
Heating and cooling of the general office areas are provided by variable
air volume, packaged rooftop units with gas-fired heating. The clean
rooms were designed with dedicated custom air handling units, deionized
water humidification system, HEPA filter supply air, and a clipped
and gasketed ceiling system.
There are several featured utilities at this facility: gaseous nitrogen
distribution, Type I deionized water generation and distribution, compressed
air, process chilled water, and vacuum.
This project is divided into two phases, with the first phase being
occupied during construction of the second phase. This requires that
all utility infrastructure is thoroughly planned and designed well
in advance so as not to disrupt the tenants.
When finished, this facility will produce flight hardware for Lockheed
Martin Space Systems. The main function of the building stems from
the production clean rooms.
